Windscreens were initially designed to protect vehicle occupants from the wind created by traveling, but over time the role of the windshield has expanded. Today, windscreens also are a safety component in most passenger vehicles, as they help contain front airbags when deployed.

The main reasons for repairing chips and in windscreens is to stop the initial damage from further cracking and spreading, avoiding the expense, and inconvenience involved in replacing your windscreen.

Depending on the type, size and age of the damage, varying visual improvement results are achieved. Some repairs are undetectable but that is not always the case. Also cracks that are years old, may have accumulated some dirt prior to repair, which affects the clarity.

Processed to be 10 times stronger than regular glass, tempered glass is used for the side windows of a car. Float glass that has been heated to extremely high temperatures followed by rapid cooling – is used to create durable tempered glass. Tempered glass disintegrates into small dull-edged pieces and cubes instead of shards to protect the passengers from harm

Smash and grab film is tinted so no one can see into the car and it also prevents the windows from breaking. When an object, such as a rock, is thrown at your vehicle window, smash and grab film clings onto the pieces of glass while remaining intact so the barrier is still there.

The canopy glass is an integral part of your Canopy, also keeping your loading area safe. Side and rear windows are made from laminated or toughened glass. Damaged canopy glass cannot be repaired and has to be replaced.

Worn-out rubbers and mouldings around the glass are also supplied.
